On-Duty Station Program - Volunteers stand-by at the firehouse, in uniform, to ride the trucks with the career firefighters. No pre-scheduling is required, but it is encouraged. On-Duty Response Vehicle Program - Qualified volunteers are permitted to "sign-out" a Fire Department Ford F350 or Chevy Tahoe for up to 24 hours, and must respond to all calls while on-duty. Off-Duty Personal Vehicle Program - All volunteers are issued Minitor/Unication Fire Pagers and given access to our Smartphone Alerting App, as well as firefighting gear to store in the trunk of their personal car. BFD also offers a program for high-school-aged youths, in partnership with the Exploring Program. It is a great networking experience, as well as a great opportunity to learn the business and skills of emergency services.
