The Madrid Fire District in the Santa Fe County Fire Department is currently looking to fill two positions as District Firefighters. Our firefighters protect the community in a wide range of emergency situations. As a firefighter you may be called to deliver fire suppression, emergency medical assistance, rescue, hazardous material responses, and public education to the people living in Madrid and Santa Fe County. Without volunteers, the emergency services, we all rely on, simply would not exist. Maybe being a firefighter or EMT has never crossed your mind. But the truth is, anyone who is willing to learn and train can do this. If you live in the Madrid Fire District, you can become a District Volunteer. You will respond from your home or work to the Fire Station, when an emergency call is received. There are no qualifications required to begin participating in this manner and training will be obtained with weekly training at the Fire Station, the Volunteer Firefighter Academy and other possibilities, once you become a member. By becoming a Volunteer, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your time, skills and energies are making a critical difference in our community (often a life-saving difference), but also will be more prepared to help your loved ones, if necessary. Visit us every Tuesday at 7 pm at the Madrid Firestation, #5 Firehouse Ln and join us for a training, to see what we are doing and talk to the Madrid Firefighters. Without volunteers, the emergency services, we all rely on, simply would not exist. Maybe being an EMT has never crossed your mind. But the truth is, anyone who is willing to learn and train can do this. If you live in the Madrid Fire District (mandatory requirement), you can become a District Volunteer. You will respond from your home or work to the Fire Station, when an emergency call is received. The La Madera Fire District currently has 20 volunteers and we are always looking to add dedicated men and women who want to make a difference in their community. | Requirements: Membership shall be open to all persons, of good character, regardless of race, sex or national origin, who reside or work within the fire district boundaries, or who reside in other communities but within twenty (20) road miles of Station 28. Hondo Fire & Rescue Dept
Individuals sought who have an interest in any aspect of firefighting (structural and wild land) and/or EMS services. Hondo Fire and Rescue serves the Arroyo Hondo and Canada Village areas of Santa Fe County, New Mexico. We are one of 15 fire districts within Santa Fe County. We serve our district out of two stations, one on Seton Village Road and one at the intersection of the Old Las Vegas Highway and US285. Hondo’s district covers approximately 120 square miles and contains approximately 3000 homes. The population within the district is rapidly growing. This trend in population growth is followed by an increase in call volume. For example, in 1994 the department responded to 271 calls while in 2008 the department responded to over 540 calls. We are called upon to perform a wide range of protective services. We are trained and equipped for structure and wildland firefighting, vehicle extrication, swift-water rescue, low and high angle rescue, and emergency medical services.
