Magnet Cove Area Fire Dept
The Volunteer Firefighter serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. Volunteer Firefighters are required to learn and participate in the operation of apparatus and the performance of hazardous task under emergency conditions which may require strenuous exertion under such handicaps as smoke, fire, heat and cramped surroundings. Although firefighting and emergency medical services work constitutes the primary and most difficult and responsible areas of work, the volunteer is also required to drill at least twice a month for two hours. These drills consist of practice sessions dealing with various aspects of firefighting, rescue, hazardous materials awareness, and emergency medical work. Time spent at the station may consist of studying, custodial care and a wide variety of maintenance of departmental facilities, apparatus and equipment. Work is usually performed in accordance with explicit instructions and well defined procedures, however, performance of the work requires initiative and the exercise of independent judgment. | Requirements: Recruit Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. Fountain Lake Fire Department
The Fountain Lake Fire Department is looking for new volunteers to join our team. We are a volunteer fire department that serves the Fountain Lake community and surrounding areas. Our department responds to medical and fire emergencies within our district and assist outside departments as needed. The department has two stations and currently have 7 apparatuses. Station 1 is at 7146 Park Ave. 71901 and Station 2 is at 111 Surrey Rd. 71909. We meet every Tuesday night at Station 1 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. If you would like to join our team then come down to Station 1 on a Tuesday night and talk with us. | Requirements: The minimum requirements to join the Fountain Lake Fire Department: 18 years old, clean driving record, ability to pass a drug test, and have a high school diploma or GED. Must have own transportation to attend training, call response, station activities etc. Must be able to pass drug screen and extensive background check. Must meet department minimum standards to maintain active volunteer status with department (Discussed during application/interview processes). Must be able to attend the weekly training meetings, any required training classes that are scheduled, respond to calls day and night (depending on your work schedule), and have a positive and professional attitude. This is a volunteer department, however, when you join there is an understanding that to be a firefighter it takes dedication. There will be times that family events, holidays, and other activities could be missed or interrupted.
