Dining Room volunteers assist with the lunch program by setting tables, preparing coffee, serving meals, and helping with clean-up. Volunteers typically commit from 11:15 AM to 1:00 PM Monday-Thursday, and 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Fridays, and should be able to stand for most of this time.

Volunteers help staff various fundraising events such as tag sales, bake sales, and special luncheons. Participation can involve setting up, managing activities, and assisting attendees, providing a great opportunity to engage with the community.

The Manlius Fire Department is located 5 miles east of the City of Syracuse in the heart of Central New York. Operating two stations, the Manlius Fire Department provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the Village of Manlius, the Town of Manlius and the Town of Pompey. The Fire Department covers approximately 27 square miles of both residential, commercial and agricultural properties. The "Department" consists of four separate entities. The "Fire Department" is owned by the village. Since 1813 volunteers have been providing, and continue to provide, service to our community. In 1987, with the exodus of industry and commercial operations in the village, the first career fireman was hired to ensure an apparatus operator or emt for daytime response. As a TeleCare Volunteer, you will provide reassurance and support to isolated individuals through scheduled phone calls. Responsibilities include offering medication reminders, welfare checks, and friendly conversation. Training is provided, and volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of three 4-hour shifts per month for the first six months.

As a Contact Hotline Volunteer, you will provide emotional support to individuals in crisis through a confidential hotline. Volunteers will be trained to listen empathetically and support callers in exploring their feelings. A commitment of at least 12 months and completion of extensive training is required.
