High school juniors and seniors are invited to volunteer every Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Volunteers will help with food distribution, organizing donations, and assisting with pantry operations. A waiver form must be completed and returned during the volunteer shift.

Adult volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks at the food bank every Monday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Responsibilities include sorting and distributing food items, organizing pantry shelves, and assisting clients.

Transport volunteers help by driving animals to and from foster homes, veterinary appointments, and adoption events. Volunteers must ensure the safe and comfortable transport of animals.

Foster volunteers provide temporary homes for dogs, cats, kittens, birds, and small animals. Volunteers are responsible for caring for the animals, which includes feeding, socializing, and providing a safe environment until they are adopted.

A Firefighter performs firefighting duties in response to emergent (fire, rescue, and hazardous materials) and related non-emergent situations. Performs routine maintenance of Department buildings, apparatus and equipment to ensure operational safety and effectiveness. | Requirements: Pass a medical examination annually, including a respiratory test. Obtain ProBoard Firefighter I certification within 18-months of appointment. Work is performed either inside or outside, in all weather conditions, and in emergency and stressful situations. Rely on senses of sight, hearing, smell and touch to determine the nature of the emergency while maintaining personal safety. Work for long periods of time, which require sustained physical activity and keen concentration. Perform a variety of tasks, including lifting heavy objects, on slippery, hazardous surfaces, such as rooftops, ladders, and steep grades. Volunteers will assist with barn chores including cleaning stalls and paddocks, scrubbing and refilling water troughs, grooming assigned horses, and general facility maintenance. This role requires dedication and some prior horse experience.

Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of over 30 miles of trails in Vernon, CT. Responsibilities include clearing debris, repairing trail surfaces, and ensuring trails are safe and accessible for public use.

Assist in planning and organizing events for Webb Elementary School. Volunteers will work within a committee to ensure events are well-coordinated and successful.

Help coordinate and execute fundraising activities to support Webb Elementary School. Volunteers will manage logistics, promote events, and ensure funds are collected and recorded accurately.
