We Need You! Don’t Delay, Join Today! We are always looking for volunteer Firefighters and EMTs. The Junior Firefighter/EMT program begins at 16 years of age. Full membership eligibility begins at 18 years of age. When am I on duty? Members have a variety of duty options and shifts, with primary coverage needed during weeknights, weekends, and weekend nights. We have bunk rooms, as well as comfortable facilities for studying, sleeping, cooking and relaxing when not on calls. Do I get paid? Trained volunteer firefighters and EMTs are available to participate in our monthly stipend program. Depending on your activity level, you may be eligible for a monthly stipend between $50 and $800. What training will I receive? Evesham Fire-Rescue will provide Firefighter and/or Emergency Medical Technician certification through one of our local fire and EMS academies. Training courses are available during the evening hours and on weekends. All tuition, equipment, and safety gear is provided by the department. Required training for a firefighter consists of approximately 125 hours of basic firefighting techniques including; fire behavior, rescue, salvage, overhaul, ladder practices, ventilation, firefighting tactics, water supply and more. Required training for an Emergency Medical Technician consists of a 240 hour state certification course which includes ambulance operations, CPR, bandaging, splinting, oxygen delivery, patient assessment, and more. Vigil volunteers provide a supportive presence during a patient’s final hours, offering peace and solace. They must first serve as patient/family support volunteers and complete advanced training.

Administrative volunteers assist in the main office with tasks like typing, filing, and data entry, helping ensure the efficient operation of Samaritan’s programs and services.

Friendly Callers engage in meaningful conversations with adults who are socially isolated or lonely, making calls from home to provide companionship and support.

Patient/Family Support volunteers visit Samaritan patients and families in their homes, at inpatient hospice centers, or in long-term care facilities. They provide companionship, engage in conversation, and share activities such as reading or playing games.

Veterans provide support to fellow veterans, sharing service stories and assisting in presentations. Volunteers receive complete training to ensure they are comfortable in this rewarding role.

Burlington County Animal Alliance needs volunteers to provide foster care for dogs and cats that are rescued from shelters. This includes caring for the animals in your home until they are adopted, as well as transporting them to vet appointments and adoption events.

Members will be required to satisfactorily complete a State of New Jersey approved Firefighter-I course of education, at an accredited fire academy within the first year of membership.
