We Need You! Don’t Delay, Join Today! We are always looking for volunteer Firefighters and EMTs. The Junior Firefighter/EMT program begins at 16 years of age. Full membership eligibility begins at 18 years of age. When am I on duty? Members have a variety of duty options and shifts, with primary coverage needed during weeknights, weekends, and weekend nights. We have bunk rooms, as well as comfortable facilities for studying, sleeping, cooking and relaxing when not on calls. Do I get paid? Trained volunteer firefighters and EMTs are available to participate in our monthly stipend program. Depending on your activity level, you may be eligible for a monthly stipend between $50 and $800. What training will I receive? Evesham Fire-Rescue will provide Firefighter and/or Emergency Medical Technician certification through one of our local fire and EMS academies. Training courses are available during the evening hours and on weekends. All tuition, equipment, and safety gear is provided by the department. Required training for a firefighter consists of approximately 125 hours of basic firefighting techniques including; fire behavior, rescue, salvage, overhaul, ladder practices, ventilation, firefighting tactics, water supply and more. Required training for an Emergency Medical Technician consists of a 240 hour state certification course which includes ambulance operations, CPR, bandaging, splinting, oxygen delivery, patient assessment, and more. Members will be required to satisfactorily complete a State of New Jersey approved Firefighter-I course of education, at an accredited fire academy within the first year of membership. Provide temporary homes for pets in need, helping them transition to permanent homes. Foster volunteers care for animals and support their socialization and training.

Engage in reading sessions with shelter animals to improve their socialization and provide comfort. Volunteers will read to animals and help them become more adoptable.

Participate in the P.A.W.S. program, helping with animal care, shelter maintenance, and community outreach activities. Volunteers will engage with the public and assist in educational programs.

Volunteers at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital support pets and their owners by increasing public awareness about veterinary health and the importance of community togetherness. Volunteers may participate in various events and activities organized by the hospital.

Support the coordination and implementation of training programs for professionals dealing with child abuse cases. Volunteers will assist in organizing events and managing outreach efforts.

Assist in providing support and resources to child abuse victims and their families. Volunteers will help coordinate services and ensure comprehensive care for victims.

Respond to people in need on our Helpline. Our trained volunteers assist callers in sorting through complex or confusing situations. They are trained to offer services ranging from emotional support to providing information and referrals.

Help individuals receive the support they and their loved ones need, no matter the circumstances. Advocates offer support, guidance on next steps, and can accompany survivors to the hospital, police, or court.

Assist at the Food Bank of South Jersey by organizing and distributing food to those in need. Volunteers help ensure that food reaches the community efficiently and effectively.

Help assemble Blessing Bags for the homeless, which include essential items for those in need. Volunteers will work in teams to organize and pack these bags for distribution.
