Delaware Township Fire Department
To protect life and property, perform emergency rescue, provide emergency medical services, fire prevention and firefighting activities. Other functions can include report writing, records management and other related duties of the position. The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned. Responds to EMS and fire calls in accordance with departmental SOP's in a safe and timely manner. Performs firefighting activities, including but not limited to, driving apparatus, pump operations, suppression, containment, ventilation, salvage and overhaul and any other job required to be performed at an incident. Performs emergency and rescue activities including driving and assisting with patients, and operating extrication tools, installation of cribbing and stabilization devices during rescue operations. Performs direct patient care in compliance with established medical protocols, and standards of care as set forth by NHTSA Standards for appropriate level of certification level, EMT-B, I, P, PS, RN. Assess and coordinate resources and personnel with our department members to facilitate safety, quality care and triage of all patients. Attends departmental business meetings, training sessions and other events as needed. Performs minor repair, cleaning and maintenance of equipment apparatus and facility. Performs functions other than the above at the discretion of departmental officers.
