The City of Mayflower Fire/Rescue Department is seeking volunteers for our busy fire department. Our department is averaging nearly 1,000 calls for service a year in the largest Fire District in Faulkner County and we need your help to answer those calls. We are looking for apparatus drivers, interior/exterior firefighters, mechanics, and emergency medical responders. We have a place for anyone that is willing to donate their time and/or expertise and in helping our community and neighbors. We will provide all training and gear needed to get you started. Once on board with the department the opportunities for additional training are limitless (and free of charge) as we can host classes in house or send you to other agencies for more advanced training through the Arkansas Fire Academy. We regularly meet for training the first and third Monday from 630p-9p and the second Saturday morning each month. Join the Maumelle Friends of the Animals to support their mission in controlling the stray animal population. Volunteers will assist in various activities, including attending monthly meetings and participating in community programs.

Assist with sales and organization at the Find a Treasure Store, which operates on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Volunteers help manage donations and sales to support the organization's initiatives.

Participate in the bi-annual Community Shredding Event to help safeguard against identity theft and support seniors. Volunteers assist with event organization and management.

Determine whether a taxpayer qualifies for VITA services, help filers complete the required intake process, manage appointment schedules, and answer general questions about our process and services.

Prepare income tax returns using TaxSlayer Online software, answer questions about an individual’s tax situation, and help them understand their filing requirements. Volunteers will also quality review the work of other volunteers if experienced.

Help filers learn about ways to save and stretch their refunds, pull free credit reports and review with clients, and provide referrals to other services.

Assist with language translation between volunteers and filers to ensure clear communication and understanding during the tax preparation process.

Assist in various roles at the Little Italy Arkansas Heritage Museum, including helping with exhibits, guiding visitors, and supporting museum events. Volunteers should be enthusiastic about sharing the unique Italian-American story of Little Italy, Arkansas.

We are located just North of Sherwood City Limits. We are looking for residents within our community to become members who want to help their local community and surrounding areas. We respond to all emergencies that come through 911. No prior training or experience is necessary. We will provide you with the training to help the community of Gibson, Runyan Acres, North Pulaski & surrounding. We would love to start our Junior firefighting program back up. This would count towards your Volunteer hours needed for High School. We have a Auxiliary group that supports the Men and Women members of the Fire Dept. Their responsibility's are to come up with fund raising ideas and support members when they my be out for extended hours on an emergency. Volunteers contribute to the education of musically gifted students by supporting various programs and events throughout the year. Responsibilities may include assisting with music workshops, events, and administrative tasks.

Volunteers choose an area, park, or street in Sherwood to keep clean. Participants register with Keep Sherwood Beautiful, and a sign will be posted to acknowledge their efforts. Volunteers are encouraged to report the number of bags of trash collected.

Participate in the Great American Cleanup, which takes place each spring from March through May. Volunteers help clean up various areas in Sherwood, contributing to the beautification of the community.

Join the Great Arkansas Cleanup each fall from September through October. Volunteers work to clean up litter and enhance the environment in Sherwood.

Volunteers assist in empowering girls to develop self-esteem, confidence, respect, and love, while guiding them to live purposeful lives. Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting various programs and events organized by Ambitious Girls, Inc.

Volunteers are needed to perform work details such as litter pick up, flower bed rejuvenation, vegetation maintenance, and wildlife habitat maintenance in and around the park. Volunteers will help preserve and enhance the park's beauty and historical integrity.

Volunteers will provide guided tours of the Old Mill Park, sharing its unique history and features with visitors. This role involves engaging with the public and enhancing their educational experience at the park.

Work involves training for and participating in duties of protecting life and property through the performance of firefighting and emergency medical service activities. Volunteer Firefighters are required to learn and participate in the operation of apparatus and the performance of hazardous task under emergency conditions which may require strenuous exertion under such handicaps as smoke, fire, heat and cramped surroundings. Although firefighting and emergency medical services work constitutes the primary and most difficult and responsible areas of work, the volunteer is also required to drill at least twice a month for two hours. These drills consist of practice sessions dealing with various aspects of firefighting, rescue, hazardous materials awareness, and emergency medical work. Time spent at the station may consist of studying, custodial care and a wide variety of maintenance of departmental facilities, apparatus and equipment. Work is usually performed in accordance with explicit instructions and well defined procedures, however, performance of the work requires initiative and the exercise of independent judgment.
