Position is a volunteer position with the Mayview Fire Protection District, duties will include: Perform firefighting work, including preventing, combating and extinguishing fires to protect lives, property and the environment Operate fire equipment and tools appropriately Provide emergency medical care within scope of practice Quickly and effectively analyze hazardous situations and take appropriate course of action Participate in training, classes and drills in firefighting, emergency medical care, disaster response and specialized rescue Perform general maintenance work of fire equipment and facilities | Requirements: 1. Said person must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.(unless inquiring about junior program) 2. He /she must possess a valid Missouri drivers licenses. 3. He / she must be in good physical health. 4. He /she must live in the Mayview Fire Protection District. 5. He / she must submit to a probationary period of one year. Volunteers typically work alongside a small group of staff or other volunteers, with some tasks possibly completed from home.

Garden Guides play an essential role in Powell Gardens’ education department, helping to inspire young minds through engaging school and summer programming. Field trips are held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings when the gardens are open, and Guides should be comfortable walking up to 1½ miles during each field trip.

Groups looking for meaningful and impactful volunteer experiences can participate in a variety of projects, including weeding, planting, nature trail upkeep, maintenance, and administrative tasks. Each group will enjoy a customized outing tailored to their interests, with the option to schedule recurring opportunities upon request.
