Interior firefighters are expected to be able to perform tasks necessary to extinguish fires both within and outside of structures and mobile vehicles and other emergencies. This includes the ability to wear full protective clothing, including self-contained breathing apparatus, deploy and manage hose lines, set up and climb ladders, enter hazardous environments for rescue, and fire suppression. Members wishing to become Interior Firefighters must complete the PA Entry Level Firefighter training program including the SBS and have a desire to attain the Firefighter I ProBoard certification. | Requirements: Application Process -Submit membership application along with required criminal background and child abuse clearances two weeks in advance of interview. -Must attend an interview with the membership committee -Application is presented to the membership to be placed on the roles as a probationary member for 6 months -Members vote on the applicant/probationary member at the regularly scheduled monthly meeting 6 months after the probation began. Training Members are expected to complete initial and ongoing training and certification requirements to remain on operational firefighter status.
