The member will be well trained in the knowledge of road safety and operation of an emergency vehicle. A medically trained first responder who is able to help the sick or injured. EMS personnel are responsible for rendering medical aid. 90% of all emergency calls are for medical emergencies. | Requirements: Members will attend a 40 hour Emergency Medical Responder course paid for by the department that will certify them to give medical aid within their scope of practice. Auxiliary Members are the biggest support a Fire Department can receive. These men and women are the biggest help when it comes to fundraising or getting materials/supplies for the stations. These members come together and brainstorm for new ideas for fundraisers, community outreach programs, and life safety programs. | Requirements: Auxiliary members are not required to run calls but can if they would like, but they have to follow the requirements for other full-time members. One who engages and extinguishes a variety of fires. Applicant will be trained how to properly extinguish all types of fires while wearing all safety gear. The applicant will be trained in various scenarios stemming from previous calls in order to be well rounded with knowledge and experience. | Requirements: New members will attend an 88 hour Firefighter Level-1 Certification course to achieve the title Firefighter. The course is designed to the standards as Firefighter 1001 Basic Class through the MS Fire Academy.
