The Mendham Fire Department began serving the local community in 1905. Its membership has always been, and still is, comprised completely of volunteers from the local area. Engage with the community to promote local history through events, guided tours, and educational programs. Volunteers will help organize and participate in various history-related activities to raise awareness and appreciation for New Jersey's rich history.

Volunteers can adopt a trail to report conditions, perform maintenance, or participate in complex trail maintenance and construction techniques. This program helps maintain over 250 miles of trails.

The Adopt-A-Trail Program offers volunteers the opportunity to help maintain over 250 miles of trails. Volunteers can choose to be Trail Watchers, Trail Keepers, or participate in the Trail Fun Series for more complex maintenance tasks.

The MCPC regularly hosts scouts for projects towards rank advancement and service hours. Projects include construction of benches, bird blinds, and floating docks. Interested individuals should contact department leaders directly for projects that best meet their interests.

Gardenworks volunteers work alongside staff to improve and maintain public gardens. Tasks include planting, propagating, pruning, and plant identification. Volunteers gain hands-on experience in specialized gardens.

Assist with various duties at The Seeing Eye's campuses, including meeting puppies and dogs in the program. Volunteers must be 18 or older, and the average wait time for placement is six months to a year.

As a Donation Drive Host, you will organize and lead efforts to collect essential items from the community to support families in need. This role involves promoting the drive, coordinating collection logistics, and ensuring items are delivered to Family Promise.

As an On-Call Volunteer, you will assist with various tasks such as making deliveries to clients or helping with administrative projects as needed. This flexible role allows you to contribute your time when it fits your schedule.

Join a Done-in-a-Day service project where you can help with activities such as gardening, organizing donations, or enhancing facilities. This is a great way to make a tangible impact in a short amount of time.

Represent Family Promise at local events to promote their programs and community initiatives. This role involves engaging with community members and sharing information about the organization’s mission and volunteer opportunities.
