Thank you for your interest! Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company 86 Foster Center Road Foster, RI 02825 (401) 397-3404 Centerfoster3@gmail.com Members are not required to live in Foster! We have different types of membership. Associate members assist with fundraising and events, building maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance, social media, recruitment and retention, office or clerical help, grant writing, etc. Active members respond to fire and EMS emergencies. No previous firefighting experience is required. We conduct regular weekly training and also help sponsor dedicated members that wish to attain their firefighter certifications from the Rhode Island Fire Academy. Junior members are our 14-18 year olds that want to learn firefighting and may also be participating in fire classes in their high school studies. Membership is also welcome from those who may not be able to do actual firefighting tasks due to age, disability, health limitations, fear, etc. These Support Personnel are valuable assets and provide additional help and support at emergency incidents. Support Personnel may help by operating or maintaining vehicles, tools, and equipment, provide emergency medical care (if trained), assist with communications, directing traffic, provide crowd control, etc. We are seeking members that are interested in volunteering their time to help out the community. We provide 24/7 Fire and EMS service responses, but we do not provide ambulance transportation for our patients, as the primary ambulance service is provided by one of the other Fire companies in town. We respond to all calls of fires, automobile accidents, wildfires and illegal burns, water and ice rescues, flooded basement pump outs, trees and wires down, as well as assist EMS on medical calls. We conduct our weekly training on Thursday evenings from 7pm to approximately 930pm, and sometimes we train on a Tuesday evening instead of Thursday to train with the other fire companies in town for a townwide training. We also sometimes train with surrounding communities that we assist on mutual aid responses. We hold our monthly association meeting on the first Tuesday of the month unless it falls on a holiday or needs to be changed to a different date. We would like to welcome you to come visit our station and meet some of our members on a Thursday evening. Please take a look at our Facebook page and give us a like, follow, and share. https://www.facebook.com/FosterCenterVolunteerFireCompany?mibextid=ZbWKwL | Requirements: Responsible, willing and able to attend trainings and respond for emergency incidents. | Categories: Department Support, Other, Junior Members, Fundraising, EMT, Firefighter
