Essex Jct Vol Fire Dept
The Essex Junction Fire Department is currently accepting paid-call firefighter applications. Paid-call firefighters, like Volunteer Firefighters, lead normal daily lives outside of the Department but are available to respond to emergencies on an as-needed basis. Essex Junction Fire provides fire, rescue, hazmat and first response (Advanced EMT level) for the City of Essex Junction. No prior training or experience is required although we do encourage individuals who already hold Fire/EMS certification to apply. The department allows for dual membership for members who serve on other Fire or Rescue agencies as long as they are within a reasonable distance to respond. The Fire Department provides training Monday nights and Thursday Mornings to accommodate most busy lifestyles and personal responsibilities. All equipment and training are paid for by the department, Firefighters receive an hourly wage when responding to emergency calls and for certain department activities. Starting salary is $17.50/hour with increases available for FF1 and EMT certifications. We look forward to hearing from you! | Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age.
