The HOT program works to identify barriers to housing/services for Missoula's chronically homeless individuals, while simultaneously supporting and educating downtown businesses and community members. Volunteers go out with staff members on the streets to do direct outreach and build relationships with people living outside. This involves interacting with clients and community members in a respectful way and providing them with needed resources, information and supplies. Homeless Outreach Team goes out with volunteers Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 1pm

Volunteers aid staff, other volunteers, and clients in creating dishes for the Poverello’s hot meals: lunch and dinner. Depending on what is needed for the day the shift can range from washing, dicing, and preparing food to organizing.

Volunteers help staff in offering those services such as sorting and handing out mail, handing out sack lunches and water, directing guests to where they can get personal hygiene and cleaning products, answering phone calls, and assisting guests making phone calls.

Volunteers serve hot meals that are already prepared by other volunteers, staff, and guests in our industrial kitchen. Any community member may receive a hot meal; there is no proof of income required. We currently need lunch servers from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and dinner servers from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday - Sunday.

Help maintain our facilities and cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for those utilizing our services. Your efforts will contribute to a safe and secure environment for the recovery community.

Welcome donors at local blood drives, assist with check-in and refreshments. Volunteers must be friendly and enjoy working with people. Commitment is at least one 4-6 hour shift per month.

Become a part of the Events Committee to help facilitate the Lost Horse Boulder Bash and other WMTCC events. Responsibilities include organizing meetings, film nights, and photo exhibits to engage the climbing community.

Join the Policy Committee to guide the development and review of recreational access and conservation advocacy work on public lands. This role involves legislative and regulatory analysis, climbing policy issues, and stewardship projects.

Participate in the Anchor Replacement Initiative Committee to help replace fixed anchors in climbing areas around Western Montana. This role requires coordination with the Policy Committee to ensure compliance with land management prescriptions.

Responds to fires and other emergency alarms and assists in those operations necessary to ensure the confinement and extinguishment of fires or the elimination of other hazardous conditions; assists in the evacuation of endangered persons from hazardous locales; connects and lays hose lines; operates hose nozzles and other fire extinguishing appliances in an efficient manner to reduce water or other damage; raises, lowers and climbs ladders; uses hand and power tools; makes forcible entry into buildings; opens up walls and other structures; enters burning buildings or other locations; protects property through salvage and clean-up operations by using salvage covers, brooms, mops, shovels and similar equipment; operates resuscitator and inhalator and administers first aid and CPR; assists officers at the scene of a fire or other locale by delivery of messages, receiving reports and transmitting orders; assists in getting equipment and apparatus prepared for further alarms after a fire or emergency; attends instruction classes, training sessions and drills. | Requirements: No experience required, EMFD will train you! | Categories: Firefighter, EMT

We are looking for somebody who can commit to 5 hours per week to support our Development Team with donor thank yous and data entry within our databases. Comfort with Microsoft & Google Suites and any database experience, like Salesforce, is a PLUS!

Volunteers can assist with the care of the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment activities. This role is suitable for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and education, and who want to contribute to the wellbeing of the animals at Animal Wonders.
