Our volunteers are key actors in achieving our mission to create a space for courageous conversations and incentivizing constructive community-building through the arts. Volunteers assist at the front desk, during Art Walk, our educational programs, and in special events. We are looking for volunteers of all ages and abilities. Volunteers ages 13–17 must provide the name and contact information of a parent or legal guardian.

Alabama Contemporary Art Center is looking for individuals willing to welcome visitors to our art gallery during open gallery hours. Your tasks would include recording guest attendance, asking for donations at the door, taking cash and credit card payments, and informing guests about our exhibitions and public programs.

Our tutoring program inside the Metro Jail is helping people go to work at good jobs when they get out, and keep from coming back. Your tutoring and admin skills can help women get into the program, study the right things, and pass the test!

Participate in the Beautification Team to improve streetscape and curb appeal. Help organize and judge the Outstanding Yard Awards.

Support ongoing projects at Leinkauf School through the LEAP program. Tasks may include mentoring, organizing activities, and supporting educational initiatives.

Assist in planning and executing social events for the community. Tasks include planning, decorations, food arrangements, and event setup and cleanup.

Work with the Safety and Signage Team to enhance neighborhood safety and improve signage. Responsibilities include assessing current signage and proposing improvements.

Join the Membership Team to help manage and grow the organization's membership base. Responsibilities include outreach, member engagement, and assisting with membership records.

Provide assistance with house operations including clerical duties, donation drop-offs, guest assistance, and cleaning.

Join us in upkeep of the house; experience in painting, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work is desired.

Collect pull tabs from aluminum cans and donate to the Ronald McDonald House to support its operations.

Help collect and donate household items and supplies to support families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. You can also host a donation drive to collect items from your community.

Help prepare meals for families by cooking in our kitchen or coordinating meal donations from local restaurants.

Be the first point of contact for families arriving at the house. Handle phone calls and provide assistance to guests.
