Your Monona Fire and EMS is an exciting combination fire and EMS provider looking for exceptional volunteers from our community! We provide fire prevention, suppression, investigation and paramedic EMS response to the City of Monona and surrounding communities. We have opportunities for new members to join our family oriented, community based department, and experience is NOT needed. We will provide you with: NFPA compliant turnout gear (coat, pants, boots, gloves, helmet, and other accessories) State of the art vehicles (2017 Pierce Engine, 2007 Pierce Midmount Ladder, 2004 Pierce Engine - being replaced in 2024, 2019 Braun Ambulance, and more!) Transport volunteers drive adoptable pets from various locations to Madison, ensuring safe and comfortable travel. Volunteers need a reliable vehicle and a good driving record, with mileage being tax-deductible.

Community building volunteers work to unite volunteers, adopters, and the Madison area around the mission of rescuing and adopting out more animals.

Grant writing volunteers use their persuasive writing skills to craft compelling grant applications that support Underdog Pet Rescue's mission and projects.

IT/Tech volunteers assist in maintaining and improving the organization's technological systems to better serve the animals and community.

Event planning volunteers help organize and execute events like Wags & Whiskers, bringing the community together and supporting fundraising efforts.

Provide a temporary home for animals in need until they are adopted. Foster volunteers help animals adjust to home life and prepare them for their forever homes.

Provide hands-on care to residents by assisting with eating, walking, and other basic activities. Additional training is required for this role.

Provide administrative support and data entry. Volunteers receive training and ongoing support.

Assist with shopping, organizing, storing, and preparing food for residents. Volunteers receive training and ongoing support.

Provide emotional and spiritual support and hospitality to residents and visitors through reading, letter writing, playing cards, and just being a caring presence.

Stay with and support residents during active dying. Volunteers receive training and ongoing support.

Assist residents by playing games, cards, art projects, puzzles, playing or listening to music. No special skills required, just an open mind and heart, and the desire to help others when it's needed most.
