Policy Overview   The purpose of this policy is to identify who is eligible for membership in the Lake Hiawatha Fire Department and to describe the application and investigation process. In order to maintain high level of competency and proud traditions, the department must ensure that its new members meet or exceed our standards. Furthermore, it must be recognized that its not everyone, in fact most people, cannot endure the physical and mental challenges of firefighting.
