Performs minor repairs to district equipment. • Performs general maintenance work in the upkeep of fire facilities and equipment, cleans and washes walls and floors; cares for grounds around station; makes minor repairs; washes and dries hose; washes, cleans, polishes, maintains and tests apparatus and equipment. | Requirements: Minimum requirements are: o High School Diploma or GED equivalent o Must be at least 18 years of age o Valid Drivers License Desired Knowledge: o Working knowledge of driver safety, working knowledge of first aid. o Ability to learn the operation of fire suppression and other emergency equipment. o Qualified in the application of standard firefighting, emergency aid, hazardous materials, and fire prevention techniques. o Ability to perform strenuous work for prolonged periods of time under conditions of extreme height, intense heat or cold, noise, smoke, or obscured vision during fire fighting, rescue, hazardous materials, medical response, and training. o Ability to act effectively in emergency and stressful situations. o Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions. o Effective written and oral communication skills. o Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the general public. o Must be able to pass a medical exam and the District physical ability test. | Categories: EMT, Firefighter
