Our Delivery Volunteers are essential in getting nutritious food to our neighbors in need. Volunteers deliver groceries to clients who are unable to access traditional food pantries, providing them with nutrient-dense foods that help manage chronic illnesses and improve their quality of life.

Volunteers assist the instructor with guided activities for children ages 0-4, while their parents attend parenting and child development classes. This program is available during the daytime in Mount Kisco, Ossining, and Yonkers.

Pack and distribute fresh produce and shelf-stable goods for our guests. Volunteers help serve hundreds of community members each week.

Help prepare for weekly distributions by packing produce bags, sorting rescued food items, checking expiration dates, and shelving food donations.

Provide advice and/or labor for garden maintenance at A-HOME houses. Help keep the gardens beautiful and functional for residents to enjoy.

Assist in painting and freshening up rooms when new residents move in. Ensure that living spaces are welcoming and well-maintained.

Assist residents by driving them to doctor and other appointments. Ensure residents have access to necessary services and appointments.

Join the committee to help organize fundraising events and special activities. Support A-HOME's mission by engaging the community and raising necessary funds.

Help residents with financial planning, including budgeting, Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), health proxies, and living wills.

Provide support to residents through birthday celebrations, outings to local events, grocery or prescription pick-up, and 'are-you-okay' phone calls.

Participate in holiday shopping and celebrations, spring and fall yard clean-ups, and a spring tag sale. Volunteers help maintain the community spirit and support residents during special occasions.

Collaborate with the Bronx River Alliance in a community science program to assess the water quality of the Bronx River. This hands-on science project aims to improve the local environment.
