Volunteers are needed to assist as ushers during performances and help with intermission receptions. This role involves ensuring a smooth experience for attendees and supporting event logistics.

Volunteers are crucial in distributing posters and postcards to libraries, coffee shops, retirement villages, senior centers, high school music departments, local music schools, and stores in Brown County and surrounding communities. This role helps spread the joy of music and engage the community with the festival.

Learn the history of the T.C. Steele site and present tours to visitors and school groups, sharing insights about the artist's life and work.

Assist in restoring Selma Steele’s formal garden from the 1910s-1920s to its former glory. This involves various garden projects throughout the year.

Maintain and make improvements to the site’s five hiking trails, originally developed by the Steeles. Volunteers will help ensure trails are safe and accessible for visitors.

Assist with updating the website, producing the online newsletter, coordinating mailing lists, and other office tasks. Volunteers will support the administrative functions of the organization.

Assist with art projects, logistics, photography, publicity, and other aspects of event planning and special programs. Volunteers will help organize and execute events.

Join RSN as an individual or group to share experiences and resources. Your input amplifies our hands-on advocacy and helps transform the community.

Assist in setting up and welcoming attendees at ICPE events. Responsibilities include bringing bottled water for speakers and managing the sign-in sheet. This is a low commitment opportunity.

Write and submit letters to the editor of local newspapers expressing views on education legislation. ICPE assists with the submission process.

Offer specific assistance such as providing rides in a schedule of needed rides, donating needed items, or helping with clothing drives. Volunteers can specify their preferences in the Volunteer Interest Form.

Join the SPEAK group to write letters to local and state newspapers and legislators in support of public education. This involves advocating against bills that reduce funding or services to public schools.

Attend public school board meetings at RBBCSC and MCCSC, as well as charter schools SOCS and TPS, to help ICPE stay informed and engaged with local education issues. Meeting times are listed in the monthly Five Things newsletters.

Provide focused expertise to immigrants and volunteers assisting immigrants. Be a resource of information about housing, Indiana FSSA, insurance, job searching, English as a New Language (ENL), counseling, the school system, and driver’s education.

Befriend an immigrant family to help orient them to the community. Responsibilities may include providing transportation to important appointments, helping them move to a better apartment, meeting for English language conversation, and assisting them in navigating medical, banking, and educational systems.

Help build out content for the ICPE website by writing and researching stories and projects that keep the community informed about public education issues.
