Harrison Fire Rescue is currently looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer with our team. Both our First Responders (Emergency Medical Responders) and Fire Fighters are hiring new members. Our First Responders are called to all medical emergencies and traumatic injuries including those resulting from vehicle accidents. Our Fire Fighters are called to all incidents involving fires and hazardous materials, and both our EMS and Fire teams respond for water rescues, cliff rescues, vehicle accident extrications, and any other area where advanced rescue and lifesaving skills are required. Groups interested in volunteering can contact Rebuilding Together Fox Valley to participate in community revitalization projects. These projects involve making critical home repairs and modifications.

Licensed professionals such as electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians are needed to provide specialized skills for home repair projects. Your expertise will help ensure the safety and health of the homes we work on.

Join our team to bring joy to nursing home residents by visiting with your well-behaved dog. Volunteers will participate in scheduled visits to local nursing homes.

Assist experienced trainers during dog training classes. Help set up equipment, manage class activities, and support dog owners during sessions.

Assist in planting marigolds along South Oneida Street. This activity takes place from late May through the first three weeks of June.

Volunteers assist in maintaining the Marigold Mile by watering, weeding, and deadheading the flowers from June through September. In October and November, volunteers help remove flowers before the ground freezes.

Event Volunteers assist in the planning and execution of special events at the museum. Responsibilities include setting up, welcoming guests, and ensuring events run smoothly.

As a Museum Docent, you will guide visitors through the museum, sharing the rich history and stories of Hearthstone. This role involves engaging with the public and providing educational information about our exhibits.

Collections Volunteers help in cataloging and preserving artifacts. This role involves working closely with museum staff to ensure the proper care and documentation of our collection.

Provide confidential support and safety planning services to individuals in crisis. Volunteers will assist in answering helpline calls and offering guidance and resources to callers.

Assist in the daily operations of the 68-bed shelter facility, providing support to residents and helping with various tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Participate in music education programs by assisting with workshops and interactive sessions. Volunteers help facilitate learning experiences for community members and festival attendees.

Assist in various roles during the Mile of Music festival, including artist hospitality, event setup, and crowd management. Volunteers help ensure the smooth operation of the festival and provide a welcoming environment for artists and attendees.

Trained volunteers are at the heart of the Center for Grieving Children. They support the program as it provides grieving children a safe space to receive peer support, information about the grieving process, and engage in commemorative activities. Some volunteer roles include Small Group Facilitators, Advisory Council, Small Group Helpers, Library/Mailings, Greeters, and Kitchen Servers.

Assist Club staff with various areas, including sports, fitness and recreation, the arts, games room, health and life skills, education and career development, character and leadership programs, resource development, and club events.

Students in the Page Turners program meet weekly with certified teachers and volunteer tutors who cooperate with the student’s classroom teachers. The weekly meetings with caring adult tutors create strong bonds increasing the program’s impact as well.

VEX Robotics is a great opportunity for someone interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Volunteers in this program will work with the STEM Coordinator to teach Club members how to build functional robots with the potential to compete and go to the VEX Robotics World Championship.
