The Station is located at South Bradford Avenue and West Miner Street in East Bradford Township. The First West Chester Fire Company provides fire/rescue coverage to West Chester Borough, as well as West Goshen, East Bradford, Westtown, Birmingham, and Thornbury Townships. Volunteer Firefighter - Becoming a volunteer firefighter and responding to calls for emergency assistance by our neighbors is a rewarding way to become involved with your community and to do something important for our community. No experience is necessary; we provide all the training and equipment you will need. To become a firefighter you will need more than just a desire to help people and give back to the community. You will need courage, dedication, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new skills and face new challenges. Firefighting isn’t for everyone and although we have a great need for firefighters, we also need non-operational help. Although we welcome any and all professions, the following is a list of areas of expertise we have an immediate need for: Business management Website management IT Fund raising (For Profit or Non Profit experience is welcome) Grant Writers So if you’re looking for that perfect opportunity to take on the challenge of becoming a firefighter or to help us out in a support capacity, you can stop by our station on Gradyville Road any Thursday evening to talk to one of our officers.
