Mentors wear several hats and can assist the Club in a variety of programs. Mentors are assigned to activities that require the most need upon their arrival. Activities can include homework help, computer lab monitor, or a recreational assistant.

We have many opportunities for groups such as corporations, churches, or even universities. Groups volunteer with their staff at our Club. Opportunities can be created for a specific date or desired project. Beautification projects are great projects for corporations and include projects for volunteers such as mural painting, flower planting, and outdoor clean-up.

Looking to get involved with our sports, fitness, and recreation programs? We are always looking for coaches and volunteers for a variety of activities.

Come help us between the hours of 3-6 p.m. We are looking for volunteers who can tutor our members in various subjects. The children benefit from the one-on-one attention in reading and completing homework. Volunteers are paired with a student to provide tutoring and offer academic assistance.

Art & Culture volunteers are needed to assist with programs, judge competitions, create murals, etc. We can utilize any art skill offered. We offer programs in visual art, photography, painting, drawing, music, dance, etc. Volunteers should have experience in their specified style of art.

If you have ever had a desire to make a genuine difference in our community, to be of service to others during their greatest time of need or be a part of a group that shares a unique camaraderie, then now is the time to consider volunteering. The time to volunteer is not after tragedy strikes, but rather before it strikes so you have the training on hand to minimize the effects of that tragedy. There are many roles to fill. We respond to a variety of calls, ranging from fires, to motor vehicle accidents, to damage caused by storms. If attacking flames is not for you, then realize there are many other tasks we perform. We can find a task you are comfortable performing. Of course, if you have the desire and drive to face the flames and battle them to the end… with proper training you can do just that! | Requirements: Must be 16 years of age or older. Must have a positive attitude and a true desire to want to help others. Must be willing to donate some personal time to attend monthly meetings, training, and help at fundraisers (couple hours a month). [Volunteer firefighters do many things at the fire department, the most important of which is train. Adequate training ensures the safety of the entire fire crew, and as such, the department has minimum training requirements in place. The Outreach & Education Committee works to educate the community about issues surrounding hunger and local food/agriculture. Activities include attending events, tabling at local venues, and spreading the word about GardenShare’s efforts.

GardenShare is looking for people to promote awareness of the use of SNAP/EBT benefits at St. Lawrence County Farmers Markets. As a SNAP Outreach Educator, you will share materials and resources to engage and educate people.

As a Farmers Market Manager Assistant, you will be available to customers to answer questions, provide information about the Market and GardenShare, and process electronic transactions (SNAP/EBT, Debit, and Credit Cards).

Assist with folding, stuffing, and labeling bulk mailings. This social opportunity allows volunteers to engage with a group while supporting GardenShare's communication efforts.

Promote awareness of SNAP/EBT benefits at Farmers Markets by engaging and educating people to feel comfortable in the market environment.

Board members work closely with GardenShare's staff, sharing a commitment to food, hunger, and farming issues. They meet monthly and serve on at least one committee, contributing skills and perspectives to the organization's mission.

Volunteers educate the community about hunger and local food/agriculture by attending events and spreading awareness about GardenShare’s efforts.

Assist at Farmers Markets by answering customer questions, providing information about the Market and GardenShare, and processing electronic transactions.
