The Hughestown Hose Company is looking for PA Licensed Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operators (EMSVO) to drive and operate our Basic Life Support Fire Department Ambulances or Basic Life Support Quick Response unit. Our department has seen a steady increase of EMS calls over the last three years and respond to nearly 500 EMS calls a year with no sign of the increased call volume ending in the foreseeable future. Although this is a volunteer position, ambulance vehicle operators are often provided with a pay per call incentive to help reimburse them for time provided. | Requirements: All applicants must possess or submit to a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check and a PA Childline Child Abuse History Check. Regardless of training level, all applicants must present a copy of their valid drivers license and should have a clean driving record. Emergency Medical Responders often serve on one of our two Basic Life Support Ambulances or staff our Basic Life Support Quick Response Unit assisting other EMS agencies when responding to incidents in our coverage area. Our department call volume has steadily increased over the last three years with use responding to nearly 500 EMS calls with our ambulances and quick response unit. Emergency Medical Responders receive additional medical training beyond normal First Aid and CPR but do not engage in more complex medical procedures like those done by EMTs and Paramedics. This is an ideal position of those considering a job in the medical profession and are unsure if they want to devote the time necessary to complete EMT and Paramedic courses. Although this is a volunteer position, EMRs can be provided with paid incentives on a per call basis. | Requirements: All applicants must have or submit to a PA State Police Criminal History Check and a PA Childline Child Abuse Record Check.
