The Oldwick Fire Company is looking to recruit new volunteers for the position of Junior Firefighter. Firefighters help to minimize the effects of fire and other hazards within their community to protect life and property. We respond to fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and other miscellaneous incidents which occur within Tewksbury Township and surrounding municipalities. Junior Firefighters have a unique opportunity to learn firefighting tactics, and aid Firefighters to make operations more efficient and safe. Help our marketing efforts by taking impactful photos during therapy sessions, adaptive riding lessons, summer camp, field trips, and annual events. Twice a year, capture the fun at our Spring fundraising event and Fall Equus Gala.

Volunteers participate in grooming, tacking horses, and either leading the horse or sidewalking for adaptive riding lessons, therapy sessions, or other equine-assisted activities. Additional opportunities include office tasks, barn chores, and maintenance.

Corporate groups, scout troops, and high school student groups assist with one-day or short-term projects such as trail clearing, fence painting, landscaping, cleaning, and tack sales.

Assist with all aspects of camp, including horsemanship skills, riding lessons, horse-related games, and crafts. Camp runs for 10 consecutive weeks starting mid-June, M-F from 8:30-12:30.

Volunteers work alongside staff to improve and maintain public gardens, gaining hands-on experience in planting, propagating, pruning, and plant identification. Tools are provided, and volunteers should be prepared for outdoor work.

Help maintain the art center’s historic facility through light gardening, painting, and minor repairs. This role is ideal for those who enjoy hands-on work.

Help with public events such as gallery receptions and lectures by greeting guests and assisting with registration. This role is perfect for those who enjoy interacting with the community.

Support daily camp activities and engage with children ages 5 to 15 as a Summer Art Camp Assistant. This opportunity is open to high school and college students aged 16 and up.

Assist artists in installing and displaying artwork for exhibitions. Responsibilities include repairing nail holes and performing light painting tasks.

Assist instructors during children’s birthday art parties held on weekends. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and enjoy working with children.

Join event committees to support the art center's fundraising initiatives, including sponsorship, ticket sales, and marketing. This role involves regular meetings and event assistance.

The GKFC is an all-volunteer organization with two fire stations Green Knoll Station No. 1 located at 606 North Bridge Street Green Knoll Station No. 2 located on Dow Road The Green Knoll Fire Company serves a population of 30,000 residents covering 15 square miles of schools, libraries, houses, businesses, churches, synagogues, temples, and shopping malls. The Green Knoll Volunteer Fire Company responds to over 600 calls a year and provides reciprocal assistance to neighboring townships.
