Firefighting is an ultra-hazardous job, and the dangers are always present, regardless of what type of call we are on. The Allendale Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) is always looking to increase membership. It doesn’t matter if you are experienced or brand new to the job; there is room for you here at this department. If you ever thought about becoming a firefighter and want to help out in the community, now is your chance to make it happen. Here at AVFD you will be exposed to many different emergency and even nonemergency situation including structure fires, motor vehicle crashes, technical rescue situations, and the mutual aid alarms. Family-to-Family teachers are required to be a family member or a caregiver of an adult individual with a mental health condition. They must have attended a Family-to-Family Class, have an active NAMI Membership, attend the entire online training session, and teach one class for a minimum of two years.
