We operate two engines, one ALS medic unit, one brush unit, two utility support vehicles, one canteen, and one rehab unit. Our station includes a gym, study area, live in bunk rooms, semi-private bunk rooms, multiple shower facilities, and more! We even have a special membership for any career fire department personnel in the capital region. | Requirements: You will be required to complete an interview, background investigation, drug and alcohol test, and a physical. The Providence Volunteer Fire Company, established in 1947, is a 100% volunteer organization. It provides fire suppression, rescue, collapse rescue, and emergency medical services to the citizens of Towson, HIllendale, Parkville, and the surrounding areas in a variety of areas including urban, suburban, and rural communities. Members take in over a 1000 runs each year gaining invaluable experience. Providence VFC is in the back yard Towson University and Goucher College but also minutes away from the following universities: Loyola University, Notre Dame of Maryland, Morgan State, Coppin State, and Johns Hopkins University. Our live-in program is an ideal opportunity to attend these schools rent free while providing an excellent college experience (Prior Training Required). In addition to calls for service, members frequently conduct public fire and life safety education details, attend community events, and conduct fund raising making The PVFC a pillar of the community.
