The department is seeking those willing to serve their community and make a difference in the lives of others. Under department supervision, and in accordance with department policy, protocol and procedure, the employee shall: • Respond to fire, emergency medical, and all calls for service. • Perform specific tasks required for the effective and efficient suppression of fire and rescue activities per department SOP’s. • Follow the principles of firefighting: Life Safety, Incident Stabilization, and Property Conservation. • Clean and maintain fire station facilities, apparatus and equipment. • Participate in training activities and public relation events. • Exhibit courteous and professional behavior while interacting with co-workers, families, public safety, and medical personnel. • Promote and maintain a working relationship between officers, employees of the department, and citizens of the community. | Requirements: Certification, Licensure, Registration: • Must possess a valid State Driver's License and be eligible for driving privileges based on current department policies and procedures. • Must pass a background check. • Must hold (at a minimum) a 36 Hour Firefighter certification from the State of Ohio. • If not certified, Gasper Township Fire & EMS may assist in achieving certification, if approved by the Chief.
