Jefferson County Fire District #7 (Ozawkie Township) personnel protect life and property by performing fire fighting, emergency aid, containing hazardous materials and fire prevention duties. Assist in the daily care of parrots, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and providing enrichment activities. Volunteers will also help educate visitors about parrot care and conservation.

Assist in trapping and caring for cats at colonies around Shawnee and nearby counties. Responsibilities include transporting cats to veterinary appointments and delivering food and supplies to colonies. Gas money is provided by Team Kitten.

Contribute in various ways, from cleaning carriers to helping with graphic design. This role is flexible and can be tailored to the volunteer's skills and interests.

Plan and execute fundraising events, coordinate volunteers, and communicate with the treasurer. Increase brand awareness and grow the community of donors.

Join a therapy team to provide comfort and support in hospitals, clinics, retirement centers, libraries, and more. Volunteers must have a calm, confident, and gentle animal that is adaptable and enjoys meeting people.

Participate in the 'Reading with Prairieland Dogs' program to help children improve their reading skills and comprehension. Sessions are held at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library.

Feed feral cats and kittens, providing them with necessary nutrition and care. Volunteers help maintain the health of feral cat communities.

Provide temporary care for feral or abandoned kittens and cats during pre-surgical care. Volunteers offer a safe and nurturing environment for animals in transition.

Bottle feed abandoned kittens and puppies, providing essential nutrition and care. Volunteers support the growth and development of young animals.

Assist in re-homing rehabilitated kittens, helping them find permanent, loving homes. Volunteers play a vital role in the adoption process.

Assist in transporting pets to and from veterinary visits, ensuring they receive the care they need. Volunteers play a crucial role in the logistics of pet healthcare.

Trap cats and kittens for pre-surgical care, ensuring they receive necessary medical attention. Volunteers assist in controlling the feral cat population.
