Responds to fire alarms and extinguishes fire. Responds to calls for emergency medical services, and renders first aid. Performs salvage operations such as throwing salvage covers, sweeping water and removing debris. Responds to and renders assistance in a variety of emergencies. Cleans and inspects equipment and apparatus after returning from a fire. Inspects equipment and apparatus and notifies superior officer of any defects. Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, and keeps records of such action. Keeps fire station, equipment and grounds in a clean and orderly condition; Participates in training activities and instruction sessions. Acquires and retains a thorough knowledge of the jurisdiction, including streets, buildings, water supply, unusual hazards and related items. Help with fundraising efforts by spreading the word and working at volunteer events as needed.

Transport cats to and from the spay/neuter clinic, ensuring they are checked in and out properly. Volunteers must be over 25 and available Monday through Friday during the morning and late afternoon.

Socialize semi-feral kittens by feeding, playing, and interacting with them. Volunteers are needed as required for kittens 8 weeks or older.

Assist with trapping feral cats by communicating with clients, setting traps, and transporting cats to and from Lucky's for surgery and recovery. Volunteers are needed Sunday through Thursday, usually 6pm or later.

Care for orphaned kittens by bottle feeding, administering medication, and maintaining a clean environment. Volunteers are needed as required for kittens under 8 weeks.

Care for feral cats recovering from surgery by feeding, watering, and cleaning their environment. Volunteers are needed any day of the week between 7am-9am and 6pm-8pm.

Perform checks of community cat colonies to monitor their health and well-being.

Educate pet owners about available spay and neuter programs to help control the pet population and improve animal welfare in the community.

Assist with pet rehoming if retention isn't possible, helping to find new homes for animals in need.

Coordinate and promote fundraising activities to support G.A.I.N.'s mission and programs.

Drive pets to spay and neuter or veterinary appointments, ensuring they receive necessary medical care.
