Join other volunteers to work on trail projects that are beyond routine maintenance. Projects might include repairing trail erosion, clearing downed trees, and repairing bridges and structures. Projects are usually one day or less.

Participate in a mobile crew that travels to various sections of the trail to perform maintenance and improvement tasks. This role requires flexibility and a willingness to travel to different trail locations.

As a Trail Section Maintainer, you will be responsible for a section of the Finger Lakes Trail, generally 1 or 2 miles in length. You will perform routine inspection and maintenance, clear vegetation and fallen branches, pick up litter, and refresh blazes and signs as needed.

Contribute to promotional activities, write newsletter stories, and assist with grant applications to support the Greenway's development and outreach efforts. Volunteers help in spreading awareness and securing funding.

An EMT's main responsibility is to provide basic and emergent medical care to stabilize patients in crisis before transporting them to a hospital where they can be further assisted by a physician. EMTs can have several levels of responsibility and certification, and each has different requirements. The Gainesville fire department will provide gear and is willing to train new members in house and put members through New York State trainings. | Requirements: New York State ID and pass a background check. Whether you want to be an exterior or interior firefighter they are both very important rolls. Exteriors are the major backbone of the fire seen, not only do they helping fight the fires on the outside they also support the interior firefighters and other crews as well. Interior firefighters do the same task as exteriors but when it comes time, they help fight the fire from the inside and perform task such as ventilation and search and rescue to try and help anyone inside. Both also can give a hand on EMS calls and MVA calls.
