New Mountain Volunteer Fire Department is looking for people interested in becoming a Volunteer Firefighter. No previous experience is required. As a Volunteer Firefighter you will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls when you are available. The department will provide you with everything needed to be a Volunteer Firefighter. We are a small department in rural Titus County. We respond to all fire and rescue incidents in our district, as well as assist EMS when requested. We are in need of people willing to serve their community in a time of need. We mostly respond to grass fires and vehicle accidents. We are mutual aid to all Titus County structure fires and any other incidents upon request. We run two brush trucks, a 3000 gallon tanker/pumper, and a structure Engine. | Requirements: Willingness to serve and respond when available. No certification required to join. Courses required to be obtained within a year: NIMS 100,200,700, and 800, AHA CPR, Courage to be safe. Wildland fire training is required due to that being our most common fire call. Other training opportunities will be available through the department. Fire academy and Emergency Medical Responder are optional.
