As an Administrative Support Volunteer, you will provide office support for the Unity Hospice team. Tasks may include organizing mailings, computer work, and creating care packets to assist in the daily operations of the hospice.

As a Patient Care Volunteer, you will visit patients in nursing homes or private homes, providing companionship and a listening ear. This role is crucial for offering emotional support to those in hospice care.

In the Music Memory program, you will work with Alzheimer’s patients to communicate through music. This role helps patients find renewed meaning in their lives through personalized musical experiences.

Contribute to the planning and execution of special events and Pedal Dream projects. Volunteers are appreciated for even as little as an hour of their time.

Provide skilled craft or trade support such as carpentry and painting. These roles are intermittent and as needed to maintain the facilities.

Assist with posting and delivering/picking up flyers and toys to hospitals and local businesses. Volunteers help spread awareness and support for children affected by cancer and rare illnesses.

Provide reception, office support, and assist with mailings. Volunteers help ensure the smooth operation of the organization's daily activities.

Help distribute posters and flyers to local businesses to promote Bike Bald Group's events and initiatives. Volunteers play a key role in raising awareness and community engagement.

Assist with music instruction or therapy introduction to the community and children. Volunteers help provide a therapeutic and creative outlet for children through music.

Wrap gifts and toys for children in hospitals and prepare them for mailing. Volunteers help bring joy to children affected by cancer and rare illnesses during the holiday season.

We are a 100% volunteer department located 46 miles directly west of the city of Chicago. We do ask volunteers to be within a certain distance of the Fire district to help in responding too calls. We are a close community and strive to help in many opportunities. We do meet weekly for training and once your past your probation period you are able to gain knowledge and respond to calls. We also cover standbys one weekend per month.
