Volunteers are needed to support the Montco Sports Hall of Fame in various capacities, including event assistance and administrative tasks. Volunteers will help honor local athletes and support youth sports programs.

We provide Fire and Rescue Services to the Citizen's of Norristown and the surrounding communities. The Norristown Fire Department is a combination fire department consisting of 60 Pennsylvania State Certified Firefighters. These include the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, seven Assistant Fire Chiefs, the Fire Marshal, 18 Career and 38 volunteer firefighters. There are approximately an additional 125 active members who support the department as probationary firefighters, engineers, divers, fire police and administrative officers and staff. In addition to firefighting, the department provides, Heavy Rescue, and Fire Police services. The Fire Department responds to over 1100 calls each year. The department’s members spend countless hours responding to these calls for service, along with many hours of training each year. Volunteers are needed to assist with the organization and execution of horse shows. Responsibilities include setting up the event, assisting participants, and ensuring the smooth running of the show. Volunteers will also help with the raffle and other event-related activities.

Firefighter – No prior experience is required, although it is always welcomed. We provide training by sending new members to the Montgomery County Fire Academy in Conshohocken. In addition to formal classes and certifications taught there, we also provide in-house training to supplement, refine and refresh our members’ skills. While potentially dangerous, this can be a very rewarding position. Junior Firefighter – 16 and 17 year old young men and women, who do many of the same things as firefighters, but play a limited role at emergency incidents. EMS responders- As part of our Quick Response Service (QRS), we respond to EMS emergencies and assist the ambulance companies as manpower permits. Fire Police – For those who do not want to take on the role of firefighter but who do want to help respond to emergencies, there is the possibility of helping out as fire police personnel. These volunteers respond with the firemen and help maintain scene control. They also often respond out to help the police department with traffic control for various non-fire situations. Corporate members- Even though by our nature we tend to be response-oriented, it takes a lot of effort to run our organization behind the scenes. For those who do not necessarily want to respond to emergencies but who have some business-related skill,we can still use your help. Join us at a new park each week to remove invasive plants, repair trails, pick up litter, and help beautify our green spaces. All experience levels are welcome, and tools are provided—bring gloves if you have them.

Provide a temporary home for pets of military personnel and hospital patients. Foster homes can specify the type of animal they are comfortable with and the duration they can commit to, with a minimum of two months. Foster homes are reimbursed for food and medical costs by the pet owner.

Conduct home visits to ensure potential foster homes are suitable for PACT's foster program. Volunteers must have experience in the veterinary field, be vouched for by a current HVV, or have extensive companion animal experience.

Edit PACT's video content into engaging 3-5 minute montages or stories. Volunteers should have experience with video editing to assist with creating compelling narratives from existing footage.

Help spread awareness of PACT's services by posting flyers and speaking with business owners about partnerships. Volunteers will receive a flyer packet to distribute in various locations frequented by animal lovers, hospital patients, or military personnel.

Assist with transporting animals between owners and foster homes or to veterinary appointments. Volunteers may also be needed to provide emergency care, such as walking or feeding animals, or staying overnight if required.
