Western Reserve Joint Fire District
The Fire District is actively recruiting firefighters and EMS personnel. No experience is necessary if the candidate lives in Poland or within 2 miles of the Village or Township. Positions are also available for those individuals who already have certifications but live further away. The District pays for all training for new firefighters and aggressively promotes additional training for all personnel. The District employs personnel on a scheduled hourly basis (must have EMS certification) or on a call-back basis. In other words, personnel do not have to work shifts and may respond to calls from home or another place of employment. All of our personnel are part-time. There are no full-time suppression personnel. Our personnel include individuals who are career firefighters in other departments, students at universities or in the trades, teachers, engineers, law enforcement, plumbers, electricians, and retirees just to name a few. We actively recruit people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Our personnel are our greatest asset and we consciously strive to recruit and retain talented and motivated people. | Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Valid Drivers License If no certification, the candidate must live within a reasonable distance for the District to pay for your schooling/education. If the candidate resides away from the District so that they are only able to work shifts, the employee must have EMS and/or fire certification (fire only certification has extremely limited access to shift work). The candidate must have the ability to devote sufficient time to schooling, attend training, and respond to calls. | Categories: Firefighter, EMT
