Non-Emergency Volunteers Needed

Garfield County Fire District #1

949 Main Street, Pomeroy, WA (0.1mi)

Skills:

Skilled Craft or Trade, Healthcare/Medical, Interpersonal

Causes:

Disaster Relief, Poverty, Veterans & Military Families

Garfield County Fire District 1 is in need of volunteers to work in non-emergency roles. If you are wanting to give back to your community and help the fire department, but don’t want to be a responder, we could use your help. GCFD1 is in need of volunteers to work on a wide range of non-emergency related activities. Some of these activities include: helping in the office with administrative activities; working with on-duty staff to complete rig checks and maintenance; cleaning the office, training room, apparatus bays, etc.; yard work and outdoor maintenance; building or setting up props for trainings; and other miscellaneous activities where we could just use an extra set of hands. Being a non-emergency volunteer has very flexible hours. You can volunteer routinely or as we need help, the choice is yours. No training is required, but we will give clear directions on whatever you will be working on. While the emergency responders may get all the ‘glory’, it is our non-emergency volunteers working in the background that keeps this place going. Call or stop by the station and we’ll be happy to answer all your questions. | Requirements: Willingness to help the fire department | Categories: Department Support
