Reliance Engine and Hose Company is one of 7 volunteer fire companies that comprise the Village of Port Chester NY Fire Department (3 Chiefs, 5 Engines, 2 Ladders, 1 Rescue, 1 Spare Engine, 2 Utility Vehicles). We are located approximately 20 miles north of New York City, within Westchester County on Long Island Sound. Our department provides fire protection for the Village of Port Chester, Village of Rye Brook, 2 interstates (I-95 and I-287), the Hutchinson River Parkway and Westchester County Airport (HPN). The districts we cover include a number challenges such as elementary, middle and high schools, dense urban along with suburban areas, a coastline, office parks, and North East Corridor train line (Metro North). We are ready 24/7/365 to respond to various emergencies such as fires, utility emergencies, motor vehicle accidents and other types of rescues. Our department averages around 1,100 calls for service each year thus we are always looking for men and women who are willing to become volunteer firefighters and help make a difference in our community. | Requirements: Some of the minimum requirements: -18 Years or older -Clean criminal record/able to pass background check and DHS check. -Live or work within the fire district or surrounding fire districts. -Able to complete minimum of New York State Firefighter 1 certification -Willingness to learn, attend local drills as well as take additional New York State Firefighter certifications (Firefighter 2, Fire officer, Emergency Vehicle Operator, Engine Co.
