Pick up and deliver food and supplies to foster homes or events. Volunteers must have a reliable vehicle and be able to lift heavy items.

Assist with microchipping Great Danes. Volunteers must have prior experience with microchipping animals.

Capture photos of Great Danes at events or for promotional materials. Volunteers should have experience in photography and own a camera.

Participate in events to promote the rescue and adoption of Great Danes. Volunteers will engage with the public and help manage event logistics.

Conduct reference checks for incoming adoption applications. Volunteers should have good communication skills and attention to detail.

Make follow-up calls to recent adopters to ensure successful integration of the Great Dane into their new home. Volunteers should be comfortable speaking on the phone and have good interpersonal skills.

Assist in transporting Great Danes to vet appointments, events, or foster homes. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable handling large dogs.

Oversee the scholarship program, ensuring that funds are allocated to deserving students pursuing STEM education. Responsibilities include reviewing applications, selecting recipients, and coordinating with educational institutions.

Manage the financial operations of the board, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Collaborate with other board members to support the organization's financial health.

Maintain accurate records of board meetings, manage correspondence, and ensure effective communication between board members. Support the board in administrative tasks and documentation.

Volunteers provide a calm, clean, and safe environment for animals in emergency evacuation shelters. Duties include setting up and taking down shelter equipment, completing paperwork, cleaning, feeding, dog walking, and playtime. Volunteers must complete a background check as part of the county's intake process.

Volunteers will provide temporary homes for cats and kittens, offering care and socialization until they are ready for adoption. This role requires a nurturing environment and patience.

Volunteers will help manage social media accounts and take photographs to promote cat adoptions and the rescue's mission. Skills in photography and social media management are beneficial.

Volunteers will assist with playing, cleaning, and socializing cats to ensure their well-being and readiness for adoption. Volunteers are expected to be punctual and consistent, with shifts available from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 AM to 2 PM.

Protects life and property by supporting firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, and other duties as assigned in non-IDLH (imminent danger to life and health) atmospheres. Maintains Fire/EMS equipment, apparatus and facilities as assigned. Performs public education, station support and prevention programs. May work under the direction of the Assistant Chief, Volunteer Coordinator, Captain or Firefighter as needed. | Requirements: Essential Duties and Responsibilities – • Responds as requested within the Groom Creek Fire District and on mutual aid assignments. • Performs fireground support activities including driving fire apparatus, operating pumps and related equipment, laying hose, rehab and other operations outside of an IDLH (imminent danger to life and health) atmosphere. • Provides traffic control at incident scenes. • Writes reports accurately documenting incident data, patient assessment and patient treatment. • Operates radio and other communication equipment. • Maintains Fire/EMS equipment, apparatus and facilities. • Performs minor repairs to District equipment. • Assists in developing plans for special assignments such as emergency preparedness, training programs, community support, etc. • Participates in drills, attends classes and other training in related subjects. • Maintains required certifications for functional area assigned. • Maintains positive working relationship with the public and other GCFD personnel.
