Big Lake Fire
The Big Lake Fire Department is seeking self-motivated candidates who possess excellent professional and interpersonal skills for Paid-On-Call Firefighters. The Big Lake Fire Department currently has 38 Paid-On-Call firefighters to provide fire suppression, rescue and first aid, fire prevention, and community service. Individuals must meet response time requirements which include living within a response zone of 7 miles to the Big Lake Fire Station. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is essential. Compensation and Benefits All on-call firefighters are part-time employees of the city and township and are compensated for actual hours worked, including emergency responses, training, and special events. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour with annual steps with satisfactory reviews. Through the Big Lake Fire Department Relief Association, every on-call firefighter also earns a pension of $5,500/year (effective January 2023), which is paid in-full after 20 years of active service. | Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent degree, residency within the 7 mile response zone, a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and clear criminal background. Elk River Fire Department
