Riis Settlement is looking for volunteers to support students enrolled in our adult English classes for immigrants through online 1:1 tutoring. By providing extra language practice outside of ESOL classes, you will help students improve their English skills for practical use such as in social, educational, or professional settings.

Assist in writing grants to secure funding for rescue operations. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and have strong writing skills.

Transport cats and kittens to various locations, including vet appointments and foster homes. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.

Assist in safely trapping stray cats and kittens for rescue and adoption. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and comfortable handling animals.

Provide temporary homes for cats and kittens until they are adopted. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and willing to care for cats in their own homes.

Help build social media presence by posting about adoptable cats and rescue events. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and familiar with social media platforms.

Volunteer rape crisis and domestic violence advocates provide crisis counseling, emotional support, and advocacy to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence who seek treatment in the emergency departments of our affiliate hospitals. All it takes is a comprehensive 40-hour training, two 12-hour shifts per month, and a willingness to do a whole lot of good.

Participate in a one-night, high-impact event for nonprofits alongside fellow PennPAC volunteers. This role is flexible and offers a chance to contribute in a short-term capacity.
