Quilcene Fire Rescue
Quilcene Fire Rescue is currently accepting applications and seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Resident Volunteer Firefighters/EMT’s. The Resident Volunteer will be assigned to a rotating shift of 48 hours on duty and 96 hours off. During the assigned shift the Resident Volunteer will respond to calls for service, train or drill daily on fire and emergency medical techniques and practices, maintain the fire vehicles and equipment, and assist with daily fire station duties. The Resident Volunteer will also be required to attend weekly drills whether on duty or not. The Fire District will supply the Resident Volunteer with living quarters while on duty consisting of a single story home to be shared with other on duty members. Resident Volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT’s are given a stipend for each 24 hour shift they work of $90.00, and up to $3,000.00 per year fire or EMS tuition reimbursement, per call stipend at the volunteer rate, private sleeping quarters and common living area. Quilcene Fire Rescue will also provide uniforms and any personal protective equipment needed. The purpose of this program is two-fold. 1. To provide continuous 24/7 emergency responders on duty to respond to calls for service in Quilcene and to assist any of our mutual aid partners as needed. 2. To train the Resident Volunteer in all aspects of emergency services to give them a better chance in securing full time employment in the fire or EMS fields. | Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: • National Registry or Washington State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) • Successfully pass a physical examination and drug screening • Possess & maintain a valid WA driver’s license with acceptable driving record • At least 18 years of age • High School Diploma or GED • Insurable by the Fire District’s Insurance carrier • A desire to learn and operate in the Emergency Services field • Provide a minimum one year commitment to the Resident Volunteer program Desired Qualifications: • EMT –IV Tech or Paramedic • Firefighter 1 or firefighter 2 • Hazardous Materials Awareness • Wildland Red Card Certified • EVIP Certified • CPAT Qualified Application Process: Applications are available from Quilcene Fire Rescue, 70 Herbert Street, Quilcene, WA 98376, 360-765-3333, or from our website: www.qvfd.org. Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks during concert events, such as greeting patrons, managing check-in tables, serving refreshments, and helping with mobility and access issues. Volunteers should arrive by 12:00 p.m. for concerts starting at 2:00 p.m.
