Prayer Agents offer spiritual support and comfort to osteosarcoma patients and their families. Volunteers will participate in prayer sessions and provide emotional support through faith-based activities.

As a Gamer Agent, volunteers engage with patients through gaming activities, providing companionship and entertainment to children affected by osteosarcoma. Volunteers will help organize and participate in gaming sessions.

Ambassador Agents represent MIB Agents in their communities, raising awareness about osteosarcoma and the organization's mission. Volunteers will participate in outreach activities and events to promote the cause.

Warrior Mail volunteers send encouraging letters and cards to osteosarcoma patients, offering them hope and support during their treatment journey. Volunteers will write and send personalized messages to patients.

The Washington Fire Department and FAST Squad are looking for members to fill the roles of Firefighter or EMT. The all-volunteer department covers primary response to The Town of Washington and a portion of the Town of Orange, along with mutual aid responses to neighboring towns. The Department provides fire, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and rescue services. Emergency medical services are provided by the First Aid Stabilization Team (FAST) Squad with patient transport provided by Barre Town EMS or First Branch Ambulance (Chelsea). The Washington Fire Department averages 50 calls annually, and FAST Squad averages 125 responses. | Requirements: No previous firefighting or EMS experience is required. We will train in house but encourage members to become certified in Firefighter 1 or National EMT. We are currently accepting firefighter applications for our East Barre and South Barre fire stations. We are a paid/call fire department, meaning we operate like a volunteer fire department but offer an hourly pay for calls. As firefighters we perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to; fighting fire, driving trucks, directing traffic, working with SCBA (air packs), extricating patients from vehicles, and assisting our EMS department. | Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be in good health. The Warren Fire Department is actively seeking volunteers to grow our department and give back to our community. On May 11, 2024, we will be hosting an open house from 10am-2pm where prospective volunteers can get a tour of the fire house and speak with active members of the department to learn what being a volunteer firefighter is all about. VAHC has many projects for interested volunteers, particularly in developing research projects with motivated undergraduate and graduate students. Volunteers will assist with various tasks related to archaeological collections and may also participate in educational programs for students.

Deliver nutritious meals and provide wellness check-ins to older adults in your community. Regular and substitute drivers are needed across central Vermont to ensure that seniors receive their meals and companionship.

Lead an exercise and wellness class, such as Tai Chi for Falls Prevention or the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, to help older adults stay engaged and healthy. Experience in leading fitness classes is preferred but not required.

Help prepare meals for congregate lunches and for Meals on Wheels recipients. Responsibilities include processing vegetables, cooking, cleaning, and packaging food to support the nutritional needs of older adults.

Provide assistance with fundraising, special events, and office tasks to help CVCOA or a Senior Center run smoothly. Support can be provided remotely or in person, depending on your availability.
