We are always looking for anyone ages 16-18 for our Junior firefighter program and anyone over age 18 to be a "regular" volunteer firefighter. No experience, no problem; we will teach you everything you need to know to be a vital part of this awesome community service. We are a combination department, which means we have career staff and volunteers. Our program is hugely successful and in the past 10 years, we have helped almost 100 volunteers reach their goal of becoming career firefighters. However, if your goal is to be here for your community, as a volunteer, then we can accommodate that as well. This is hard work and it doesn't happen overnight. You will need to commit real time on a consistent basis to be properly trained to handle a myriad of all-hazards incidents. Organize and host a food drive to support GO Pantry. Engage with your community, including kids, co-workers, church members, neighbors, sports teams, and more, to collect much-needed food items and spread awareness about childhood food insecurity.

Assist with various tasks at the GO Pantry warehouse, including date checking and sorting donations, packing GO Boxes and GO Bags, loading and stacking boxes on pallets, and removing plastic from canned goods. Most shifts are on weekdays, with some weekend and evening shifts available.

Transport animals to and from adoption events, veterinary appointments, and foster homes. Volunteers must ensure the safe and comfortable travel of animals.

Assist in organizing and managing adoption events to help animals find their forever homes. Responsibilities include setting up event spaces, interacting with potential adopters, and providing information about the animals.

Conduct home visits as part of the adoption process to ensure a safe and suitable environment for the animals. Volunteers will assess the living conditions and provide feedback to the organization.

Assist in the application process by checking references for potential adopters. This role involves contacting references and verifying information provided in adoption applications.

Support the organization's education initiatives by helping to create and deliver educational materials and presentations about animal care and adoption.
