We will train you as a firefighter, ems responder, and/or you can join as a support group member or junior volunteer firefighter. | Requirements: Firefighter/EMS Member - Must be at least 18 years of age, have a good moral background, be able to complete a state-required training program offered in evening hourly once-a-week classes, pass the standard physical agility test and be able to respond or donate occasional shift time and participate while maintaining participating and training hours on a yearly basis. Fire Department Support Member - Must be at least 18 years of age. Willing to participate in meetings, fundraising events, training, work details, and on-scene participation with no live fire or recovery hazardous situation participation. Full-time volunteers support members will identify as volunteer fire staff with limited non-hazardous duties. Previous or current Georgia state-certified firefighters will be eligible for Georgia Firefighter vehicle tags. Junior Firefighters - Must be at least 14 years of age and be approved by the city chief. A parent's consent and liability waiver must be signed and notarized. Jr. Firefighters must be mature enough to responsibly function in an area with boundary supervision. Polk Cnty Vol Fire Dept
Polk County Fire Department has been solely volunteer for over 40 plus year now. Our volunteers have diminished greatly over last several years. Polk County Fire Department is divided into 9 station through out the county, with total of 100 volunteers on roster, only half that number participates in responses, training or public relations. Majority of the firefighter we currently have work in paid departments that surround Polk County, and volunteers with Polk County as time allows. We are currently seeking members that are self motivated, dedicated, and responsible. Polk County Fire responds to an average of 800 fire related call yearly. Polk County Fire department also work closely to the local Emergency Management agency in search and rescue, and natural disasters. | Requirements: O.C.G.A 25-4-8 specifies the person certified must complete the following criteria: 1.
