Firefighters in our district fight structure fires, provide medical first response, respond to motor vehicle collisions on the road and trail), fight wildland fires and go on search and rescue missions. Our district is 116 square miles, including 40,000 acres of the Mark Twain National forest, where we regularly rescue lost and injured cyclists in the Chadwick Motorcycle area, and assist the US Forestry service with wildland fires.
