Polk County Fire Department has been solely volunteer for over 40 plus year now. Our volunteers have diminished greatly over last several years. Polk County Fire Department is divided into 9 station through out the county, with total of 100 volunteers on roster, only half that number participates in responses, training or public relations. Majority of the firefighter we currently have work in paid departments that surround Polk County, and volunteers with Polk County as time allows. We are currently seeking members that are self motivated, dedicated, and responsible. Polk County Fire responds to an average of 800 fire related call yearly.
