Ambassadors are specially-trained volunteers who represent Waterspirit at community events, testify at government meetings, and more. They help spread the message of protecting water at festivals and conferences.

Volunteers are essential to Waterspirit, helping with tasks such as setting up and cleaning up at programs, fundraising, and advocating for water. Volunteers can also share their talents, such as music or public speaking, at events.

Help construct and maintain osprey nesting platforms to support the local osprey population. Volunteers will work on-site to build and install platforms in designated areas.

Participate in beach cleanups to help maintain the coastal environment by removing litter and debris. Volunteers will work in groups to ensure the beaches are clean and safe for wildlife.

Participate in winter surveys to monitor seal populations along the Jersey Shore. Volunteers will observe and record data on seal numbers and behaviors to aid in conservation efforts.

Conduct research on microplastic pollution on beaches by collecting samples and analyzing data. Volunteers will contribute to understanding the impact of microplastics on coastal ecosystems.

Assist in monitoring horseshoe crab populations along Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook Bay. Volunteers will help collect data on crab numbers and nesting sites to support conservation efforts.

Support the planning and execution of arts events by assisting with logistics and day-of-event activities. Volunteers will help ensure events run smoothly and provide support to attendees and artists.

Assist the Highlands Borough Arts Council in securing funding by writing and submitting grant applications. Volunteers will work remotely and collaborate with the team to identify potential funding sources.

Assist NMHA in acquiring grants to support their ongoing projects. Volunteers will work on writing and submitting grant applications to secure funding for various programs.

Join our boatbuilding family weekend events or boat restoration projects. Volunteers will help teach local youth how to build a wooden boat, sharing skills like countersinking and measuring. No prior boat skills are necessary as training will be provided.

Attend NMHA events and write articles or press releases about them. Volunteers will see their work published on the NMHA website and must submit their reports shortly after attending events.
