Our "Volunteer" members take calls from anywhere within Walnut Township. They receive paid training, top of the line equipment and facilities and an hourly wage for every emergency call. As a volunteer at Hocking Township FD you do not need to have current certifications in Fire or EMS, but it is highly recommended. HTFD will provide some tuition assistance after successful completion of initial course completion. Volunteer applicants should either live in Hocking Township, an adjoining township or the City of Lancaster. Preferably, volunteer applicants will live within 5-7 minutes to the station at provide quick response times for calls. Training is provided monthly in house and each volunteer is required to provide at a minimum 8 hours of volunteer time monthly.
