We are a combination fire department, staffed by lots of volunteers and some full time staff. We serve the areas of Mount Horeb, Blue Mounds and towns of Cross Plains, Vermont, Blue Mounds, Springdale, Perry and Primrose in Dane County, Wisconsin. No prior training is needed; classes are provided to train you to do firefighting skills. After training you must complete 36 hours of training each year and respond to a minimum of 10% of our fire calls to remain in good standing with FDMH. Emergencies happen on our highways as well as in our homes, schools and job sites. This means the safety of our community is dependent on the generous contribution of time and talent of our volunteer EMTs, EMS Drivers and Firefighters. Assist backstage during performances with costume care by cleaning/sewing costumes as needed, or serve as an escort or chaperone for our youngest cast members in the dressing rooms, ensuring they have a safe and magical experience.

Assist in the lobby before and during performances with concessions, serve as ushers, photo attendants, or magic ambassadors, welcoming guests as they settle in for the show.

Assist in organizing and facilitating membership meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of January, February, March, May, September, October, and November. Volunteers will help with setting up the venue, welcoming guests, and ensuring the smooth running of the event.

Meet residents and serve beverages during mealtime in the Assisted Living dining room. Volunteers are needed once a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with scheduling based on availability.

Help transport residents for programs, engage in friendly visiting, and assist with various tasks for Skilled Nursing. Volunteers are needed once a week on Monday or Friday afternoons, 1:00-3:30pm. Training will be provided.

Assist with online ordering for the Independent Living Village Store grocery service. Volunteers are needed twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays to place orders for Tuesdays and Thursdays. Training will be provided.
